a Pop-up Gin Bar!
Nipped up to Hoxton Square in E.London last night – as you do (yep, almost got arrested as an imposter, going somewhere so achingly trendy), to check out the Fever tree pop-up gin bar with John & Hannah Nur-Nurse - well, what's not to like about something like that?
Bloody good idea for a mixer brand as they had every gin under the sun there – 160 of the little liquidy marvels – all to try with their various rather good Fever Tree mixers (the Elderflower is a particular winner).
Having woofed our way through about 30 gins between us, we did however have to tell them that the huge blackboard with drawings of the FT brands and their descriptors did actually have a massive typo in the main flavour name of one of their 5 mixers – Mediterranean – or Meditterean, as they had it. Think that might have been what secured us a pile of freebies to take back to John & Hannah's in Clapham where we had the final gin of the night…
Anyway – nice to try a bunch of different gins, the 'tasting flight' you can see in the photo of me & the hubster was £15 including 4 mixers, so well worth a pop!
