Here we are, mid May, a whole 3 and a half months since my hair fell out. Tell that to my tortoise-like follicles though – talk about slow in growing back.
I have now reached what Hawksey calls my tennis ball phase, and seem to now be known as 'Slazzy' (Slazenger for some reason being his tennis ball brand of choice..)
Equally amusingly, I am regrowing a veritable cornucopia of hair colours. Pretty much every shade and variety there is. Although it has been pointed out to me that 'there's grey, there's white, there's kind of mousey, every colour except your old blonde'. Ah, cheers for that, the hair gods.
Weirdly, it is still soft and straight, but I suspect the evil switch to corkscrew and pubic may yet be to come.
iI the meantime, I am watching the white patch at the front with particular amusement as am sure this is building up to grow vertically, so I can live out the 'there was a little girl, who had a little curl' rhyme in full glory.
Here's to the next phase of growth, which I am anticipating to be the similarly attractive 'microphone head' but until it comes, full accurate naming will just have to wait x

‘Slazzy’ – love it!
Go ginger follicles, but not the pubic phase – ewww!
I can highly recommend Nice ‘n’ Easy shade 8G, previously listed as 104a and lovingly described on-pack as ‘light honey blonde’. Guaranteed to confuse builders who aren’t sure whether to yell ‘Oi, blondie!’ or ‘Oi, ginger!’ at you when you’re crossing the road.
