H and I are just back from 8 days in the Scilly Isles (off Cornwall) – and while I will get round to whacking some photos of the main trip on here, I couldn't resist putting the best of the pix from our snorkelling trip with seals on here now.
We were hopeful but went with low expectations – maybe a seal would pop up near the boat but probably be gone by the time we nipped into the – bloody cold – water. But for once – it way WAY WAY better than we thought it might be.
The seals clearly love playing with snorkelers! The snorkelling company don't feed them or do anything to attract them – and you're obviously told not to chase them but let them come to you.
And come to you they do – quite surreal having massive seals sneaking up behind you, trying to nibble your fins!
Such a great trip – suspect I looked somewhere between a seal and a small whale in two wetsuits, a hood, gloves and boots, but who cares – H & I just LOVED interacting with about 30 of them, for aaaaaages.
And H was very pleased that he took what we call the 'money shot' – this one of a seal definitely heading in for a very close look at him..
Fab!
