So Sunday was a right old mix of things. For me, top of the list it was the day that Hawksey & I were supposed to be flying to Barbados for the start of our fantastic Caribbean holiday that we'd been waiting months for, and were so looking forward to. All the lovely things – even nice Club seats, just ready to give us a large chilled Bucks Fizz to get Valentine's Day off to a cracking start.
Instead – the flights and holiday are all cancelled as you know, so that took a fair bit of swallowing all day as the 'we'd be boarding now'….. 'it takes off now and we're not on board' etc moments came and went. Just supremely gutted that we could;t pull it off, but here we are – looking at chilly Feb temps and the only turquoise water is on my bloody iPad screen saver..
BUT – we did then manage to do a nice bit which was to go to Wiltshire with Janine & Ross and choose their new puppy dog with them. In a litter of 8 Labradoodles was one little girl still looking for a home and she is now called Flossy Capon. They pick her up in 4 weeks time…. my, and how life is about to change (she says, from experience!)
But very very cute – who could resist that furry little black face??
And at least we then watched England whip Italy at rugby and then had a very nice cottage pie to finish off the day.
Not quite the warm and sunny landing in Barbados we had in mind, as I stood in the kitchen with H, squirting bloody Revlimid chemo into my mouth at 9pm, but hey, there you go…. x x
