I was going through the last of Mum's boxes, kindly deposited by my brother in my living room rather unexpectedly, and came across several bundles of old postcards from 70-80 years ago.
My favourites were the coloured ones – some that I've put into loose themes – quite quirky, fun, some slightly menacing in design – although there were about 60 old black and white ones too.
Mum did hang onto some very sweet things over the years (I couldn't quite bring myself to read the – very old – love letters from Herbert & Terry!), and it's such a shame that the ones my Dad wrote in his nicer younger days were so spidery that they are illegible. Maybe it's for the best…
Anyway – enjoy the pix, a real slice of nostalgic history. Sigh x
