La Casa di Franco, Italia

Hey peeps, just back from a molto bene weekend in Italy, staying at the world renowned Casa di Franco. So that's Tony's fab house that he's had built in the Tuscan/Umbrian hills.

Tip top highlight for me was definitely our lunch in Florence – People keep asking 'did you see this sight, or that sight' and the answer is, no, we parked (no mean feat in the land of nippy Piaggios and Noddy cars), we pottered round a market and then sat in the full on fabulous sunshine and filled our boots with some bloody lovely pasta. Truffle oil truly is a winner. And combined with cheese should be virtually illegal, oh so good.

Also managed to buy a lovely leather belt, which for those of you who've witnessed me hoiking up my jeans endlessly for the past year, it a true highlight. Its actually long enough to go round my not so svelte shape and reduce the horrors of 'il crack di builders' happening every time I bend over… A gift from me to you all, enjoy.

Very odd temperatures going on though - down to minus 2 as we slid down Tony's hill on the way back from dinner, with Clare & Janine claiming they'd seen a giant porcupine just to wind me up as I'd been dozing in the back, as we headed at speed towards Tony's wood burning stove and hot water bottles, then countered with 17 degrees and baking Tuscan sun during the day. A summer & winter holiday all in one!

Many 'grazies' to Tony Spanko Freaking for lending us the pad – and a couple of photos below to prove we were there!

Oh and the one with the ghoul in a sheet on was the vino from the supposedly haunted restaurant we ate in – Caspar the Friendly Ghost on a wine bottle? Eeek….

PS No laughing at my hair – not only full on hockey player in comfortable shoes cut, but made even grimmer through the 'grey meets ginger' tabby toning at the moment, sigh…..
