…ta da da da, ta da da da da
Ta da da da, ta da da da da da daaaaa. (I do hope you know this legendary tune?)
Well, musical anthems aside, today was my final dose of Velcade. The second chemo drug that I have been having alongside Dara, for, what feels like forever. Amazing how time flies when you’re having fun..
Anyway the medical protocol is for a certain number of doses, and I’ve had ‘em all. Celebrated it with three Bourbon biscuits as I waited for treatment today, I am WILD.
So the good news is, it’s Dara only, monthly still, till probably December, when Prof will discuss next options, if there are any. A very welcome break from the three weeks a month of Velcade hassle, hours at the Dark Side, steroids, sleepless nights, red face, mega munchies and gabbling like an idiot.
My worry though, is that Dara is reportedly best in combination with a second drug, and now I am only on one.
And the only additional new drug I keep hearing about is Ixa, which only comes in bloody unhelpful capsule format. Which, despite trying for decades now, I still can’t swallow.
(Did I post about my abortive attempt to get hypnosis to ‘cure’ this problem? Suffice to say, not exactly successful, sigh..)
Anyway, here’s to no more Velcade jabs and resulting bruises all over my stomach. And to the imminent invention of some powerful, teeny tiny magic MM tablets ever so soon. Please! X

Good on yer. Now you just need to be concerned about your choice of music.
