So, this week heralded a belated celebration fo Liz Tinlin;s 40th birthday – and what better way to entertain a self-proclaimed 'science geek' as well as me, the polar opposite, than a day of indoor skydiving?
So off we trotted on thursday, all a bit nervous and wondering if the cooke dbreakfast on the way was a a terribly good idea or not, to Bodyflight in Bedford. Got all togged up in our flying suits (equally entertainign as they have sort of padded 'gills' down the inside of the legs so you have to walk as if you've already crapped yourself), goggles and helmets and headed to the tunnel.
8m high, 5 metres wide and with an airflow of 120 MPH ashooting upwards through it, yes enough to even get my lardy backside aloft.
Absolutely hysterical – and highly recommended – the only way you'll ever feel just a tiny bit like a megamix of Spiderman/Superman as you spin out of control, trying to keep 'chin up, arms angled, back arched and legs slightly bent' as you're being blown to b*ggery.
Check these out – and go soon!

You’re a legend Scotty, thanks again! And your blog is far more hilarious than my ‘eek look what i did’ facebook post! You are indeed, a poet of the modern times. Though not when flung back out of the wind tunnel on your first flight 😉
