I was sent a link by Myeloma UK as its Myeloma Awareness Week, so they are hoping people will do something to raise funds and further awareness of what is still an incurable bloody disease.
This one liner rather stood out for both its 'good' news (albeit from a very low base so it's not massively something to shout about) and the shocking stat:
Survival rates are improving faster in myeloma than in any other cancer, but lack of awareness means that 1 in 5 patients still die within 60 days of diagnosis.
Man, feeling all the more lucky today. Jeez… x

Is it lack of awareness or lack of effective treatment? Or lack of awareness among those diagnosing it about how to provide effective treatment? I think we should be told… and it’s us who are lucky to have you perkily blogging away after nearly 5 years of this sh*t. Well done and keep the posts coming! BS xxx
Yup BS – numbers schmumbers. 100% of MM sufferers called Scotty are invincible and will still be writing this blog in 30 years. Everyone knows alcohol is purifying. See you soon m’dear xx
