Oh come on! Going to sleep at 11.30pm with a bit of Graham Norton on I-Player seems a good way to guarantee at least some shut eye. Especially after a busy day walking the dog, springing Mr H from Parkside, having 2 lots of visitors (cheers Ashley, then Soph & Nicky), doing Waitrose (nice bump into Tony Franco in the car park), doing Mum's dinner and bed routine, making our dinner and lifting the new knee and all it's kit on and off sofas and beds, plumping up H's cushions and dolling out his drugs in a bizarre vice versa to our usual tablet swallowing routine, ie me.
Ah no.
Woke up at 1am and it seems that my usual tricks of TV, BBC News, Facebook and my new nemesis, Plants vs Zombies (thanks Fitz for the tip off, it is addictive) are all failing me…. And it's now still only 3.15am.
Bloody, bloody steroids combined with the perennial worries of the fucking C nasty… Not a great recipe for a good nights kip.
Am trying to stay off shopping websites – the pair of Fat Face linen trousers that were on the doormat earlier had had a good seeing-to by Scrumpy – both spare buttons chewed in half and I haven't yet dared fully unroll the trousers to see if she thought it was a new toy for savaging and has noshed the material too. Well, it was her 4th birthday today – yes 4 already – but that package was not meant to be her bloody present!
Right, am going to have to get creative…. Cup of tea? See if H is awake (the knee and he have snaffled our bed and I'm in the spare room)? Dare to look at something to do with Miami, in case it is possible go on June 15th when our flights are booked? Now wouldn't that be just brilliant, but it's still too far off to countenance.
Hmmm… Not sure, but there's at least 3 hours to kill before a reasonable up time – any suggestions..!!??
