Aha! It seems that in not posting yesterday, I have set off the both jungle drums and multiple alarm bells, whoops, sorry. Everything is ok – I was just trying not to bore the baps off everyone as my sofa surfing days are getting less thrilling by the minute… so here comes a joint yesterday/today entry, try not to get too over excited as you read on.
Finally got round to writing to Phan Thi Kim Tuyet today, the girl that I sponsor in Vietnam through Plan International. Feel a bit guilty as I'm normally very good at writing to her every 3 months but because of all the medical stuff it's a bit belated, and I've had 2 letters from her in the meantime. Big news from her end, they now have a water source only 5-10 minutes from their rural home, which is a really good step forward and nice to hear. For my letter, I resorted to padding it out with lots of generic guff on how Brits hate February, the weather, Pancake Day etc, as I couldn't exactly talk transplants, hospitals and the lack of hair. Slightly disingenuous but needs must.
Had to go for bloods and to see Prof this morning, and got sent for another hour long MRI, which did feel slightly pointless as I had one last week, but mine not to reason why – must just remember to pack the CD when I see the biopsy man tomorrow. All a bit confusing about the back situation as Prof is bandying all sorts of body parts (discs, vertebrae, bone etc) as well as potential diagnoses – which the biopsy tomorrow should hopefully clarify. Annoyingly it will take around 5 days to see if the biopsy sample they take 'grows' into anything in its Petri dish – how long can this bloody mess drag on for?
At least the MRI chaps were helpful and fed me my painkillers 10 mins before I needed to get off the scanner bed – managed to get off fine, though the memory of being stuck on there for 2 hours last year, howling like a banshee, will never quite fade I suspect…
And as I was waiting for the MRI, I got summoned back to CCL to get some liquid antibiotics to start taking for my back. Talk about arse about face, I've had to wait 2 bloody weeks for the biopsy with no treatment, now he wants me to start drugs without knowing what the diagnosis is….though I guess that if the pink liquid might have a positive impact then yes, let's start the 4 times a day of trying to sup it back, now.
Had my first bit of the half a pig in our freezer for dinner – a very nice pork chop with Mr H's special mushroom and leek sauce. With 2 cheeky lemon and sugar pancakes to top it all off, the most I've scoffed in ages, Billy bonus.
Even considering having a bath tonight. Might be a bit too cocky as it was very difficult and painful trying to get out of it last week, but it is a very nice relaxant. Will see how bold I'm feeling once I've hurtled up the stairs tonight x
