Had the pleasure of David & Mandy staying with us this weekend – probably nicer for us than it was for them, as we have barely any kitchen installed and are making tea in the utility room and coffee in the garage at the moment!
But we did have the large moment of celebration on Sat morning – christening the new oven – which was plugged in only hours previously – ta da – the first bacon butties of the new kitchen!! Not sure I'll be trying the microwaved scrambled eggs too many times again though..
Also had the highly unexpected moment of Mandy very gamely trying out something she never thought she'd be up for – frog's legs at Gazette, our local Frenchie restaurant. What a good effort Mands, bet you had to pretend it was Dairy Milk, hey?
And we finished off the gastronomic eatathon with a very fine roast lunch at The Plough in Sheen. When you have no kitchen, it's amazing just how much you can eat out in one short weekend.. The boys seemed to be enjoying themselves anyway..
Just listening now to the kitchen worktop chaps installing our new granite baby downstairs – we are nearly, nearly there…

Miele. There is no plan B.
