Were we in the Med on our boat this weekend?
The once-a-decade miracle occurred and it was a) boiling hot, b) flat calm, c) nice enough to be eating up on deck and d) actually warm enough to briefly reveal the whale blubber and put a bikini top on. All a while keeping a watch out for those nearby fishing boat harpoons…..
Fantastic weather, although suspect it has given H's brother Tim and wife Mel a very disproportionate picture of what boat weekends are more usually like (huddled downstairs with the pervading niff of damp mingling with the lime in extra fortifying gin & tonics).
And even better – we had a full half hour playing with a massive pod of dolphins, not bad for just off the coast of sunny old Poole! Right beside the boat, literally looking up at us, with a baby dolphin too. Which got me a bit worried when actually ran over as it was still looking up when we ploughed through under full engine, trying to keep up with the main pod… ooops.
And yes, you will also see the unthinkable – me not only in a long sleeved t-shirt when I normally only wear short sleeved stuff, but wearing it on the hottest day EVER – all with the Bridezilla intentions of not getting any t-shirt marks that will show up on the Big Day in the Monster Meringue. And getting texts from Claire the bridesmaid warning me not to get any watch marks either, blimey – wedding a gogo and Sweaty Betty central….will all be worth it in – oh my god – less than 3 weeks, Sx
