All Good with Prof

Hurrah – just had Christmas sign off from Prof.

Amazingly, all is going really well in the right direction still – IgG, IgA, IgM proteins all heading the right way, light chains ratio holding steady at a good level, paraprotein still barely detectable at 'apostophes 1' level, haemoglobin and white blood cells count and neutrohils all rocking along merrily. May have to run a course of antibiotics to shift the latest in a long line of dull scotty chest infections, but given the bigger picture that's barely a blot on the landscape.

Feel very lucky to be in this position – my 2 year anniversary of diagnosis was in September so I am now 27 months post diagnosis, and in mid Jan will be 2 years post Stem Cell Transplant. Something that everyone hopes for as a baseline, but not everyone gets. As we know, 2 years is the median remission period before Myeloma rears its ugly and unwanted head again, but am hoping massively that we'll make it to the wedding (an extra 4 months over the average) without things going tits up.

Anyway – today's blood test nothwithstanding (the only thing that can prompt a 'Scotty you need to come back in' phone call) – all is good for Christmas and now we can focus on H's nasty knee op this coming Saturday. I get to sit in Parkide doing Sudokus while he lies between the lilac bedsheets…

Tra la la la la, la la la la.

Scotty x
