OK, so it wasn't exactly sunny in Margate when I took these pictures when visiting Mum this week, but the gardens at her care home, Yoakley, are really lovely. And massive. And her room is in the top photo, second 'black looking' window in from the right, so a pretty good view (if only she could see it, sigh).
Yoakley is a set of almshouses dating from 1710 – and as I was looking this up, I found the criteria for becoming a resident which were set back then by the founder Michael Yoakley – not entirely sure that many of us would get in there now!
