Another week, another set of walks – all appreciated but boy oh boy, aren't we all now counting the days, weeks and months till the different things (hopefully) come back online and our world expands again?
Started with some barely visible deer in Richmond Park – blimey, those suckers are almost hidden till you practically stumble across them. Lucky Scrumpy was on the lead, as I suddenly realised that the 'beige spiky bracken' just a few yards away was in fact about 20 big boys with major antlers lurking and very well camouflaged in the undergrowth…
And from deer we moved on to…. a rather unexpected avian visitor. Oddly, when Janine & I were walking round the very urban space of Hurlingham Park – skirting the perimeter fence we looked up to see this fella watching us from behind some rather un-scenic barbed wire… Bizarre!
H and I then nipped slightly further afield to Virginia Water, to 'power walk' round the lake. It's a good feeling for me now to be able to knock out 5-6 miles without really feeling it – buoyed on by a cuppa half way round. H even bravely donning his sunnies for the first time – at which point, the sun immediately disappeared.
And finally, a little early evening stroll for just me & the dog beast up to St Mary's Church where there is a square of land for Scrumpy to trot round for an evening sniff & poo… Love the way the steeple is lit at night – now it just needs a pop up gin truck nearby to complete the sundowner moment…
So, a few more weeks still to go, with a bit more company & a few more activities allowed as we go… And it cannot come soon enough x
