Watery Weekend

Indeed, was a wet one, fortunately, of the boat variety, rather than of the 'wet with lots of tears' variety (though I am still far too much of a dab hand at these, what a wuss).

Startd off with a fine few cocktails with Lizzy T in B@1 in Putney. We might have been the oldest in there (ok Liz, don't get huffy, so JUST I was the oldest in there), but my they do whack out a fine cocky or three – and you just can't knock a Happy Hour where they're still 2 for a paltry £7. I may be in my forties (vile rumour has it), but it still works for me! And of course they had to be Cosmos, as we were heading to see Sex & the City 2. Barman could even light the orange peel by squeezing the orange oils out – ooh the faux glamour of Putney High Street – either that or he had paraffin on his pre-pubescent fingers…

Film was predictably tosserama, spent most of it wondering how I'd managed to have a day of eating P (no, not pee, that would be gross). But all P foods – Porridge, a Panini for lunch and Popcorn for supper, finely rounded off with some Pick N Mix chasers. Cue the perennial debate as to whether Sweet or Salty are the king of popcorn… My vote is always for Sweet – Salty stuff on cardboard food just reminds me of that awful boarding school game you boys play with biscuits and something equally salty…. you know the one I mean,. UUURRGGGHHH.

Then went down to see boaty with some of H's chums and their offspring. Sadly no Zoe with us this time – the witch didn't stump her up even though it was our weekend to have her. So the joys of access (or lack of it, bloody bollocks) continue. Sad for H but he was a trooper, crabbing with Ashley's little girls off the quayside, threading fishing lines and over-cooking chicken nuggets a go-go. What a star. And in true competitive spirit (at all times, even when competing with a 3 and 5 year old), I am now officially 'Scotty 4 Crabs'. That's a claim on how many I caught, before any of you sick puppies thinks its some kind of a political statement… Up the crabs! Socialist Crustacean Worker!

And now the sun has finally got his hat on, so here's to less of the watery stuff (unless enveloping a lychee martini) and more hot days in the sun. Barbecue anyone?? (Oh and Mikey – pub quiz and games night, yes please!)
