So then, having endured all the inevitable pisstaking from Aded Value when I sent round the 'anyone for 2 Olly Murs tickets?' email, I then decided to explore a whole new world.
That of the online ticket resale facility.
Nipped onto Viagogo, checked out what price other punters with tickets were trying to re-sell their Olly Murs tickets for, decided to whack our two on for the lowest amount in the hope that some desperate sod might part with the necessary couple of bob for them, and sat back.
My learnings are:
– Amazingly, there is demand for Olly Murs at the O2
– And there is something pathetically exciting about getting an email saying 'Congratulations! Your tickets have SOLD'
– Even more amazingly, the tickets seem to have sold for twice the price they actually cost us
– This is obviously why there are no bloody tickets available for things you want to go to, as I am clearly one of the last people to work this out, and have been caught in the trap of 'no tickets left even 2 miniutes after Take That or Adele go on sale' – because some far cannier sneaky sods have bought the max they can, and then resold them at a vast profit, which I have baulked at coughing up
– If this works (money only goes into the vendor's account 5-8 days after the event), it's a scam that I shall be joining!
– And if not, all we've lost is 2 Olly M tickets when we'll actually be on a catamaran in the lovely turquoise sea off Phuket, so not exactly worth swapping location for.
Will let you know how it goes – could be a whole new career out there, using H's O2 priority ticket order thingy and making a bit of beer money (ok, cocktail cash) with any filthy lucre proceeds.
Suspect there must be a catch somewhere, but as I said, worth a try! Will keep you posted…
