As of this morning, we unexpectedly have a visitor for 4 days. Rio the vizla has been handed over by Pam and Jude who have her for three months until her rabies jabs are completed and she heads to live with her owners in New Zealand.
Scrumpy, as ever, is broadly uninterested, though slightly miffed that Rio is in Scrumpy’s bed and drinking Mojo’s water, rather than her own. Just wait till Scrumpy realises that tomorrow Rio will be taken out for a walk but Scrumpy has to stay home as she hurt her leg yesterday and is off games for a week. Cue the tragic Spaniel face…
More trickily, Rio is fixated by Mojo and can’t decide what to make of her. This is resulting in half hour Stare-a-thons, sitting intently 6 inches from Mojo, which culminates in very loud barking for five minutes, when she can’t take the mystery any longer. Did I mention she’s here for four whole days??
She is however very pretty, although her pointy waggy tail is like being whipped round the calves by a belt.
Just need to teach her a few floor manners, good job S will hoover up anything left in Rio’s wake…
Ah and the piece de resistance is that my sister is arriving in half an hour, for a rare visit from Holland, and she’s not terribly keen on dogs. My, how pleased and surprised she’s going to be. I’d better get a large vodka and orange ready…. x
