Mr H & I nipped up to the wilds of the North this Tues/Wed, to catch up with our chums David & Mandy and visit the Great Yorkshire Show. A whopper of a county fair – twice the size of the Southern one and with the most notable difference being that the South one has hand sanitisers and washing stations by every animal tent – while in Yorkshire there's not one in sight. Bacteria management is definitely for soft Southerners only.
Wet day on Tues – as you can see by our brief amble to some local rocks, as we pretended to work off the large pub lunch – so we went to the Show yesterday instead – lovely sunshine, perfect for admiring the vast quantities of pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, horses and other critters. Blimey they make cows massive up North, check out these whoppers (or soon to be Whoppers?)
Quite liked this one – spot the hungriest Old Goat photo. White ones not happy that the black one was up nicking their leaves and hay.
And this one – the moment I just about managed to persuade H not to buy a flat cap. Although, worryingly, it did quite suit him..
Very good to see the Brighams – even if our selfie taking was a bit crap. Animal hooves not all that exciting…
Here's to our next weekend – back down South in – sunny we hope – September x x
