The Week That Was

God, it's SO nice to be back going to the theatre and into town – how I've missed that orangey pattern on the tube seats.

Finally got to go and see Come From Away in the week, having moved the tickets several times over the past 2 years. Ross couldn't make it so it was just Janine & me – and the show was FAB. Definite recommendation – musical based around planes landing in a tiny Newfoundland town on 9/11. Sounds unlikely, but its based on a true story when US airspace was closed and the planes had to land somewhere, quite a heart warming tale of the hospitality of a small community.

And also squeezed in the final pre-baby meet with Sophie, heading to see Belfast at the Everyman in Esher. Only a couple of weeks max now and little girl Harris-Green will be with us. I'd told Soph that various other Mums have said 'wish I'd gone to the cinema more before the baby came, now we never do it' – so we got a last minute date in, very good film too, both of us blubbing in the snoggers seats at the back by the end of it! At least she's got raging hormones as an excuse..

And managed to get myself to a very satisfying 666 ('the number of the Beast') days of Duolingo. Still somewhat horrified that the little habit I started back in March 2020 is STILL ongoing, but it was quite nice to be told by various people in Gran Canaria that my accent was good – god knows the words probably weren't!
