Surrey Sculpture Park

So we are now in the land of 'what shall we do as the odd day trip out'?, and I had wondered for a while if this place would be worth a visit.

So we went last Friday and got the Valentine's day special rate – how romantic – (I'm always up for a £2.50 saving) and trotted round it.

Apparently it's a 10 acre site though doesn't feel quite that big, and they give you a little map with various coloured trails to follow. Which is quite handy as there are 850 sculptures to take in!

Some pretty impressive – look closely at the apparent wood tangle behind H and you'll see the rutting deer – lots pretty decent and some downright odd (also known as 'shit').

But quite a nice way to spend a dry Feb day, though we made the huge error of not running Scrumpy before going in, so she practically ripped out H's shoulder joint as she had to stay on the lead all there way round, and was not impressed.

Worth a visit, takes about 1.5 hours to trot round, very slightly hilly so almost counts as exercise, less than an hour from home and there's a pub right opposite for lunch. What's not to like? x
