Goodness me – a trip to the forgotten wilds of East London last night, all the way to Sushi Samba for Soph's chosen birthday meal out.
And it was good to get out! Brought back the feeling of being in a bar (albeit outside still!) with people, and there being a buzz rather than a hush.
Very good food – sushi rolls, tempura, fish tacos, ceviche – even a cheeky pork belly – and the place was nicely busy, bustling and still with decent service from Raul… And of course, great London views from the 39th floor…
Can't remember the last time I got a cab back home from Wimbledon, nor was back in the full dark after 11pm. Good to reawaken the mind to new possibilities although it did mean I had total Scrumpy up to bed with me to make it up to her – and that bloody plastic cone rustles like hell all night!
