Shoulder Bloke

Saw Duncan Tennent the shoulder bloke last night at St Anthony's in Cheam, seemed a decent chap.

The irony that for the past 15 months at least I have not been able to carry my own arms around with me, as just having them swinging at my sides cases great shoulder pain, is that now I can't walk bloody far enough to trigger the pain! But know the shoulders are still pretty duff as the scans as usual have plenty to say.

Still, he was up for having a ferret around in my left shoulder to start with (generally worse than Mr Righty, and the one I'd love to be able to turn over and sleep on again at some point, once my back allows me to sleep on my side again – keep dreaming). Scans show various bits of stuff floating about and apparently he is also charged with doing a bone biopsy so we can see what the myeloma is up to in my shoulders (and therefore possibly other places like my lower back). In order to get some shoulder bone he has to knock me out, so might as well have a 'quick hoover' in there while I am under.

So – may have a little shoulder op next week. Just have to get permission from Charlotte the heart/lung lady for him to give me a general anaesthetic…. It's like getting a letter signed by your Mum for a bloody school trip, but if that's what's needed then I'm up for any improvements that can be made, and we will then see what can't be mended….

Feeling generally pretty sore this morning – back is a bitch – but about to nip to Kingston (big trip for me these days) to return some of the JL jewellery (kept 2 necklaces!) and meet Liz T for a spot of lunch.

Crazy cat huh?
