Of course it would be sunny all the way down to Hove to start the Shaun (the Sheep) by the Sea trail – and then honk down the second I leaped out of J's car to go find the first Shaun somewhere on the coastal boardwalk. This first shot was taken at a jog from a distance as I legged it back to the dry of the car!
Luckily we were full prepared for a soggy & windy one, so trogged our way round the many different coloured painted Shauns. Each one painted by different people / groups, then to be auctioned off for a local cancer charity.
We settled on seeing about 15 of them in the end, out of the full 43, as a nice tapas lunch in Brighton and a bit of shopping also had to be fitted in.
And at least it was dry on Fri eve when J & I left the boys at the coot and popped down to Shoreham to try out the firework display at the Harbour Club. I missed the fireworks last year so was keen to get to some this year – and not only were there very good but they were also free! You don't get that in Wimbledon.. Perfect to come back to jacket spuds and chilli, very November-y.
All in all a lovely coot-y weekend, topped off with a mighty fine – as always – roast lamb on Sat night. A very happy birthday girl! X
