Seasonal Bleatings

Well, here we are… 2 days to Christmas, my trousers are already unfeasibly tight and there are still a gazillion calories to be consumed and belatedly regretted between now and the prerennial January dietathon.

Have had to get off sofa and go to the loo with a blindfold on as H is not so subtley wrapping my stocking prezzies at the table, and we're also madly hunting last minute cat feeding companies as our usual sources of moggy nuggets and festive strokes are out of the area/country. Poor Conker and Mojo will be on a non-planned diet if we don't strike gold soon! (Given that Conker is still in deep doodoo from having troughed a into a meant-to-be-a-gift fruit crumble plus the nice crusty bit on the end of our festive baguette this week, maybe a couple of days sans her usual Hills Science Diet would be her just desserts…. no, couldn;t do it to her….just)

And tonight we're 'hosting' a supper round at Claire & Jon's….. bit odd but with the advent of three small kids they can no longer leave their abode….. so we will leave it duly reeking of curry and Hawksey's active bottom in a few hours time, in our non-domiciled-parental 'supportive' fashion.

Then its lunch with Olga tomorrow – rolling out a whopping roast beef to clog her elderly arteries in time for Xmas… then dropping Mum at Heathrow for the wheelchair ride to the KLM plane (please let it go on time and her find my sister at the other end ok).. You might think this is just being a worrywart… but let no-one forget the cold wet dark night we left Mum outside Rotterdam Theatre (after a truly epic performance of Van Gogh – the Musical - in Dutch - I kid you not) and both my sister and bro-in-law thought she was in the other person's car… It was nearly 2 hours by the time we got back there and found her looking bemused by some Dutch hoodies skateboarding around the chilly precinct she was lurking in…

Then the 25th will come – and me & the Big H will have Crimbo on our tod, at home. First time ever – let the turkey trot, the mustardy ham toil and the mini choc puds boil and bubble…. Wishing a stonking Xmas to you all! Xx
