Scott Family Xmas Lunch

Well, we took a deep breath and only 24 hours after the builders had finally left (not that the buggers have really finished..), Hawksey & I had 10 members of the Scott family round for a full on slap up Xmas lunch.

Major hats off to Mr H who managed to cope with a short pre-arrival meltdown from his slightly overwhelmed wife with a very sore back, did all the cooking and most of the clearing  up – normally my forte, but physical restrictions prevailed on this occasion.

Having stuffed everyone to the gills we just about made it to Wimbledon Park for a quick dog walk – Scrumpy, plus Nancy (Richard's dog, who spent most of her time trying to slink upstairs to get on a bed) and Buster, cousin Adrian's dog, who rather liked the sound of his own barking. Pathetically, I now have to drive there while everyone else walked – a good reminder about why I am having my percutaneous infusion operation today, in a desperate effort to 'get a better back'.

Collapsed onto the sofa as soon as the last one had gone – Cathy was here till Tues, when she headed back to Clogland with Mum in tow. So the house is remarkably quiet – no builders, no Mum, no family, Scrumpy was away with Katie till this morning and Mojo isn't exactly a noisy little furball. Carpets still feeling delightful underfoot as well. Bloody lovely. x
