Had a good last week or so, making the most of the last few days of summer (boo hoo), starting with a day at the cricket with H, Claire & Jon. Good to have a chance for a proper catch up, and the cricket did at least stump up the excitement of Ben Stokes' record, in between some rather sloooooow overs. And now the pitch image won't rotate – or maybe it's just as tortoise-like as the game was in parts..
Cathy then came over for a week, mostly with the plan of selling her house in Morden. She's had it for over 20 years and it was the house she used to live in, before moving to Clogland. Having been rented for all that time, there was the possibility of a ton of work needing doing, but luckily she's just heard that one of the two sets of people interested has coughed up enough to get it off the market.
Still, it gave us the chance to head into town to see Operation Mincemeat, which my old school chum Fiona has recommended to me on many an occasion. And good it was!
Photo op with random gorilla in Covent Garden en route – as you do. Also loath to flip itself the right way up..
Thence onto some dog sitting – firstly Miss Flossy, Janine & Ross's labradoodle. Here having a delicate trot in Wimbledon Park while Maddie thunders up and down, desperately trying to get 'just one' tennis ball from the courts alongside the pathway. Spaniel torture when there's a big old fence in between..
And now onto Lottie, Mark & Charlie's golden doodle, who is here for a week. Both doggies are a bit more 'bark-y' than we are used to, but overall very good – so far.
She's been nibbling her front paws since I started posting, so time for a quick tug out of any burrs in the ginger fluff and a nip round the park again so they are hopefully both tired during Mummy's sofa time tonight x
