Pre-hols Social Whirl

It's been a very busy – and very nice – week or so, seeing various groups of people and chinwagging away.

Started with a cheeky night out with K and Curly, plus Jane and Sarah – went to a new little Mexican place in CXlapham on the former site of a cocktail bar I used to go to (ah yes, when I was younger) at the end of the night. Hence some pretty fuzzy memories of Dark & Stormies as the late night drink of choice in there.. A good catch up with the girls and some v nice food and cocktails..

Then headed up to the South Bank with H and Maddie to meet Jess with her two girls, Lettie & Polly, and brother Richard and Heather. Lettie had very sweetly baked us a bun – but of course managed to drop it upside down as she handed it over. The icing meant a large leaf was stuck to it as I received it and of course I had to still eat it, grime and all.. I was also gifted a colourful bracelet that she had made – pride of place when I went out for supper that eve!

Much easier to meet there than for us to do the Eltham slog or Jess to do vice versa – and the giant hot dog and spin on the carousel kept Lettie very happy.. Polly Pops is now a very smily little thing too – a nice pre Xmas little family get together.

Then it was onto a visit from Mr H's side of the family – Mel arrived first and I whisked her off to the Wimbledon Art Fair as she's a creative sort… Managed to only buy 1 egg cup between us so minimal spend and max wandering enjoyment.. Tim arrived from his work week in France and they gifted us a fab felt tree decoration of Scrumpy – which not only looks like a spaniel rather than just a random dog, but properly like dear Scrumps. Very nice idea.

And finally a walk with the Martin clan on the Common on Sunday – Patrick is turning into a very much growing boy, managing to stuff away 2 portions or chips and a mega brownie post walk. He's not even a teenager yet! Good to catch up and to take another family shot, this time for Emmy's show and tell at school..

All a bit busy, in a good way, as this week is certainly a lot less fun! Currently sitting in Parkside awaiting my 6 monthly bone marrow biopsy, having had chemo once this week already and with another dose due on Friday – plus a PET CT scan that day as well to top it all off. Twice a year there is a flurry around 're-staging' me and this is the week… I'll know results in a week or so, fingers crossed nothing to rock the boat.. x
