Remember that incredibly hot weather a week or so ago? Yes so do I – the weekend that my oldest niece Jess got married to 'the man of her dreams' – Pat Doyle.
Fantastic for the photos, slightly more of a challenge when pushing 87 year old grandmother of the bride around in her wheelchair all day and evening… Hot, hot, hot too bloody hot!
Cathy & Emmanuel were over from Holland as their 2 children were flower girls – armed with confetti cannons that gave everyone a fright when they exploded..
Rick and Heather did a cracking job of setting up for the reception in their huge Kent garden – all very airy, light and full of flowers and lovely little touches such as the painted tiles as wedding favours, sweeeeeet.
And big brother managed to knock out an excellent speech – beating Pat's mother who read in church and cried the entire way through it, bless her. Pat has clearly inherited some of her qualities as he too boo-ed most of the way through his groom speech, but that was really rather nice as he clearly adores my niece – and that's the most important thing by far. We've only met him a few times but he shot up even further in my estimation at that point – it's a good bloke who shows his emotions, I reckon.
And even cousin Adrian made it down for the evening bash – a good effort.
And the next morning was spent on the Kent beaches with the little nieces and C&E, good to spend some time with the Clog clan.
Jess & Pat are now on their 2 month – yes 2 months, not at aaaaaaaall jealous – honeymoon. One of the few things that will lure me onto Instagram, so I can live vicariously through their very enviable travels.
Happy trip Mr & Mrs Doyle x x
