Wanted to let you know that Mum’s funeral went well yesterday.
There was a good turn out from family, church friends and friends – hats off to 97 year old Michael who made it to the service and down our kitchen steps for tea, plus sent a two sided letter of condolence. And to lovely Ernie Hoole who couldn’t come but sent a £5 cheque for the charity of my choice, god bless him for his kindness.
Huge thanks to my chums who sent messages, and those who rolled out on a drizzly day to offer their support in person – I can’t tell you how much that meant to me.
And to Vicki and Tina for collecting and setting out the tea, so H and I could speak to those who came.
A surreal, sad, nice and memorable day. We are about to pop back to the grave now to say another goodbye more quietly. God I miss my mum, the dementia took a lot from her and us but I loved her dearly and always will x
