Good night out this weekend for my sister in law, Mel's, 50th birthday. All of us slightly startled to be beginning the evening in B@1 on Greek Street, which was humming as if it was midnight! Worked out that there as a happy hour till 6pm, so the 'young people' (sadly we are definitely no longer counted among their numbers) were clearly making full use of it! Dancing away, thank god to 80's tunes rather than anything with a major bass beat..
We were 5 rather than 6, as number 6 had been on a week of shifts to do with the Queen's passing, so was let off to go and sleep. So we made the most too of the Happy Hour and Mel was flying by 6pm when we decided to retreat to a rather quieter local pub pre dinner.
Then on to the Ivy for supper – I think the birthday girl had a suitably good night though whether it was all memorable the next day, who knows??
