Well, this will be shorter than you might have expected as basically there is still no firm news on what's up with Miss Maddington.
She's now had 2 stays at the Royal Vet College and we picked her up yesterday to come home from stay 2.
On the upside, after various scans and blood / poo tests they haven't found anything major and also don't think that the Spanish vet was right in diagnosing an auto-immune condition.
On the downside they can't explain why she had a temperature in the first place, nor – more worrying – why she lost 25% of her body weight in a matter of days. She is still a rather skinny girl, with shaved patches from the many tests, so not looking quite her finest as yet.
It may turn out it was all a storm in a teacup – a bad bug or possibly poisoning causing the temp and there weight loss (though that still feels pretty excessive for a dog was still eating..)
Or that once she is finally weaned off the steroids, which will be done in a week or so, they will then be able to re-test her and might yet find something then.
So we are booked back up there in early July. Everything a bit up in the air as it could all be fine (god here's hoping) or not. As ever, a health waiting game. Arse!
