Just had a whirlwind 36 hours in Le Touquet for an early birthday treat for Nursey, arranged by his lovely other half Sophia. Did the full 'SURPRIIIIISE" thing, leaping out of an adjacent room in the tiny departure lounge, his face was a picture that made getting up at 6am well worth it.
Great fun private plane from Lydd airport – a whole 15 mins to cross the channel, just enough time to see off a couple of bottles of celebratory champers – followed by sand sailing for most of the group. Then a spot of lunch in the centre of Le T, basking in the afternoon sunshine, at an outdoor table, exactly as hoped for.
Lots of chatting and spoiling Nursey, who was delighted to be attached to a helium balloon all weekend.
Vast amounts of eating, an awful lot fo fruits de mer, ambling the market, coffees and a few glasses of the wet stuff.
Plus a five way cycle ride along the beach which was hysterical. Nursey can't even drive a bike in a straight line it transpires..
And of course a moment for me and Mr H outside the Sports Cafe where we first snogged 11 years ago this month, and a few other fond old haunts.
Great weekend!
