We went to see Mr Khoo last week, for the 4 monthly check up based on H's blood test.
Pretty good news overall – H's testosterone has risen to a very good level, and the PSA level has also risen, but – thankfully – by a much smaller amount. So it isn't mirroring the testosterone rise (there's a relationship between the two things that's very important), which is what we were hoping for.
The absolute PSA score was up – from 0.52 to 0.6 – but is still a way away from getting to 2, which is the witching number we don't want to see.
But Khoo now wants H to come every 3 months from now on, not 4, as he says 'the next 12 months is our critical 12 months' and wants to track H's situation more closely in 2024. So we left feeling – yet again – that we need to squeeze as much as poss out of the coming year, and make sure we make the absolute most of our time.
Ah well, the joys of health.
For me, my 6 monthly bones marrow biopsy and PET CT scan are both in early Jan – luckily the theatre was too busy to squeeze me in pre Xmas. Jolly good I say.. January feels a way away still..
