Smuggy Small Bit McSmug here – wanting to report that I have so far managed two whole weeks of being a good little gym bunny as part of the Countdown to Wedding fitness/fatness regime.
Three gym visits each week plus a game of hockey equals – apparently – about 4,200 calories, according to my new sports watch thingy. Just a shame you can't store them up and then rip through an entire Thair takeaway or 400 bags of Sensations, plus extra oily houmous to make full use of it… Mmmm, that'd be a result…
And the other new learnings from my Xmas exercise measuring toy are that:
- an hour's Body Pump class delivers a risible 300 calories off – barely two frigging Hobnobs
– 45 minutes of Body Combat delivers a highly pleasurable 600 calories although at the expense of looking like the fat 40-something frump at the front of a group of slinky blonde twenty-somethings, most of whom look infinitely cooler as they deliver their 'hiiiiii-yaaaaaa' and adopt the somewhat ludicrous 'Striking Python' karate (in my case 'I'm A Little Teapot, Short and Stout)' pose
– And a game of hockey, now I have been laughably moved to play in midfield (yes our defence are even slower than I am) – is a winning 800 calories. Only slightly offset by the 3 feet of baguette and very cheap ham with a slab of cheddar I shovel in post game. Like scoffing a Dead Python from the class above…
Anyway – 4 pounds down, 400 or so to go…. And a week in Lisbon on the AV Directors Global Conferencey thingy coming up end of month – highly likely to whack all 4,200 straight back on, depsite the fact that I will almost certainly throw up from overly large vodkas not quite being soaked up by my oh-so-dull fish and vegetables dinner choice….
Off to burn a couple of extra cals, fretting over what on earth needs to go in a wedding invitation….
