We decided to stay in Florida for Girls Week this year and so far have had a complete hoot. I’ll spare you the 20 hours or so spent in various shopping malls so far (highly successful, may need a third suitcase soon) – here are a few of the highlights thus far.
The first holiday beer on our Miami Beach balcony, somehow that one always tastes the best…
Getting a huge sports bar to open up just for us, so we could watch the England match. Unbelievable result!!! Almost choked on my smoked salmon bagel…
Airboat Tour in the Everglades mangroves. Plenty of mean looking alligators, a bonus raccoon, the moustachioed captain and a very special photo of Janine with three arms….
Busch Gardens, Janine’s day, spot the blonde head in the front row of this horror. I am holding the bag and did so with great skill all day…
Luckily, yesterday was my day – spent three very happy hours face down in the Crystal River north of Tampa, watching beautiful manatees swim, eat and potter. A long held desire, finally fulfilled. Happy sigh.
Off to Clearwater Beach today – actual time to hit the sand and read a paperback. Got to as there’s no room in the suitcase for those on the way home. More shopping to come! X x
