Nicky, Vicki and Soph bought me an Escape Room Experience for my birthday last year. And we finally got round to trying it out this week.
Was a bit odd to start with. They basically open a door and you go into a room, in this case decorated with Harry Potteresque furniture, desks, capes, scrolls, animal plaques, owls etc. I was expecting a ‘Task 1’ bit of paper but we had to search the room, pull out various hidden items and work out the task. Half an hour in, we were nowhere.
Few clues later – and me having got my glasses so I could actually read the bits in the room – and we were in a second room with potions, a cauldron and some magic shelves , then a third with a giant Aragog in it, and just found the sixth task ball (you get these when you solve them) when the big egg timer was almost out of sand…
Very pleased we got all six. Slightly less keen to put a cloak on for the photo when I was already beetroot hot..
Onwards for a cocktail with a view (and a bit of ‘birthday’ cake), a Thai supper, to the sounds of France winning their semi final, and a few cheeky late night gins. Cheers girls – looking forward to next birthday event in just 2 months time! X
