Had a very good couple of days with David & Mandy, our Harrogate chums, who made the trip down south – and into the sunshine! David had apparently been out with their dog Macey that morning in 4 degree weather, in his gloves, coat etc – so was rather delighted to find himself sitting out with a t-shirt on in the London sunshine, needing his sunglasses!
Mands had decided the theme for their visit was Russian Night, so hats were borrowed (including Ross's authentic Moscow-purchased bear hat) and worn, while the Moscow Mules and blinis (complete with Waitrose's 'cheats' caviar) were consumed, followed by a good soaky-uppy stroganoff… The Russian music lasted all of one track – jeez, that stuff ain't exactly cheery! Still no idea how David managed to get up again from the Russian dancing position – as you can see, poor Macey was so scared she left the room!
Had a v nice walk in Richmond Park as well, with just a very grumpy Scrumpy missing out, as it was too far for her mending hip to travel. She is however, doing very well, much better than when the other (worse) hip was done last year, so am about to take her to Wim Park on the lead – a big improvement in her eyes from trailing slowly up and down Dora Road with her cone of shame on.
And of course, Mr H didn't miss the golden opportunity of putting lucky David to work, pitching in on the grand patio building fiesta – check out that boiling forehead. Mands and I knocked out a couple of exhausting crosswords while the boys were getting sweaty..
We even held a fitness class together, making a change from beaming in David via Zoom to work a few ounces off us. Really good to see them in person and chuffed that the southern weather was a joy throughout! Back to the dog walking coat & gloves now, David…
