My sister Cathy came over this past week to sort out a changeover in her tenants, in her Wimbledon flat. And to spend a week in there in the cold and dark doing some much needed DIY – brrrr!
Luckily for her it coincided with her birthday, so we pulled out all the stops with a visit to the gym – well mostly the spa once she’d had a quick go at the E-gym. Then tea in bed, a sausage brekky, cocktails, cards and prezzies and her choice of dinner, a beefy roast with all the trimmings.

Cath was delighted with her gifts from the girls, which they had squirrelled away in the car so she could open them on her birthday. And my card was of course a winner….

Also that eve we obviously just had to play ‘When I’m 64’ by the Beatles as she has now hit that rich age – check out her face as she twigged it, while swigging a large vodka & orange. Tee hee…

The dinner was followed by a fountain candle in her birthday cake – reminding me that the last time I used one of those it was after a hockey match any the Bank of England ground. Where the sodding thing set off the fire alarm, necessitating the evacuation of about 100 people – hockey players, rugby boys etc etc – all of whom were having teas in the big facility there….. Eeeek!

Good to have her over here for a few days of respite and Dora Rd hospitality – she and the girls will be back in March for another visit, I’ll have to stock up on more vodka …. x
