Bye Bye Boatie

Ah……. after many many years, Mr H has finally said his last fond farewell to 'Boaty'. We have officalyl sold our sailing boat.

An he did so in the usual Boat-trip style – with a plan to spend a lovely weekend in great summer weather, sailing to a specifically chosen destination. Which, as ever, was rudely then commuted to being sailing in crap damp chilly weather to a different destination due to tides/ weather/ the perennial boat buggeration factors. Proof positive – it was time to sell the boat!

So, he's not pining too much (as yet) – though I suspect our planned trip to Polynesia and the lure of the monster catamaran has something to do with softening the blow.

And I have to admit, I'm not too sorry – the number of weekends I spent with the arctic Solent breeze blowing down the back of my trousers, no matter how long a t-shirt I wore or how many times I repeatedly tucked it in, while trying not to fall overboard/crack my knee on the cranking device's moulded storage pocket or face-planting into the swinging boom or the table…. well, suffice it so say, my butt has never been warmer now and my need to pack my woolly 'plaity hat-ty' suitably lower than for the last few years.

So – it's a bye bye to the Magus, and a warm hello to some weekends away at dog-friendly hotels around the coast, some trips to chums and general landlubber tomfoolery over the summer.

Bon voyage Le Magus – you will be missed (though mostly by H!)
