Busy Brigham Weekend

Had David & Mandy down from Harrogate to stay with us for three nights, and def made the most of our time together! Is that why I'm so knackered this morning??!

Started with a bit of chilling and dog cuddling – it's getting harder to work out which b&w spaniel is Scrumpy and which is Macey – but that was quickly replaced by popping some bubbly and smiles all round as D&M somehow managed to buy a house while they were with us! They've had a different house 'on the go' for months, with various problems and worries, so saw another one just before they came down, and within a few hours of arrival the deal was sealed on the new one. Hufflepuff Mansions is on its way.. Now that's a good start to any weekend..

Celebrated further on Fri eve by knocking out a Brazilian evening – basically a good excuse to wear ridiculous stuff, drink caipirinhas, get the straws and umbrellas out and eat a lot of steak, barbecued chicken etc… Hawksey's 'bombadeiros' (chocolate ganache balls) were an end of evening in front of the open fire triumph…

Sobered up enough to watch the England rugby game first thing on Sat morning, and then head over, via a beer & natter with Andy Booth in a local Twickers brewery, to watch Quins play in the afternoon. Luckily, a pile of tries, a cheeky bit of hog roast and a Quins win, so worth the trek.

Hawksey of course then had to lure Macey up onto our bed so he could send a photo (one floor up!) just to bug to David, and then it was a trip over to Brick Lane on Sunday morning to check out the Art Fair in the Truman Brewery there. Special bonus to see Mark Warshaw's hubby Charlie there, who was exhibiting his 6 paintings and racking up some commissioning enquiries. Final bit of over-eating with a tasty Pad Thai from a street stall, then all headed off in our different directions..

Sofa time Sunday afternoon – and the inevitable leftovers for me x
