An unusual one – J&R were 'up north' at a party and seeing Ross's lovely sister Hilary & hubby Jim, so we had the lovely cooty pad to ourselves. With a 2 night visit from the Nurses, sandwiching a nearby wedding with a stopover in very sunny Thakeham.
Had a peaceful two nights to ourselves, warm enough to sit out in the garden with the fire pit on and an ever marvellous G&T in hand..
Tried a new thing – went blackberry picking as its the perfect 2 week period for snaffling big juicy suckers at the moment – crushed them into a large 6-piece ice cube holder, froze them down and hey presto – the perfect berry ice cubes to melt into a Gin Bramble. Ta da!
Added in a couple of Waitrose tips, dog walks (or 'trudges' as Hannah & I like to call them), some snoozing, paper reading and general padding about and 4 days disappeared all too quickly.
And there we all were on Sunday night – making the most of the end of August (hopefully not the whole summer – lovely x
