Another V Good Aug Week

While it does feel a bit like we are squeezing the last days of joy out of the (rather crap) British summer, there were still some v nice things in the diary this week.

Had a lovely walk with H in Richmond Park – much 'dad & dog' bonding, before Mads headed to the brook and was deliriously happy frolicking in and out of there, up & down the bank, till she was – still not really – knackered.

Then it was out for Liz T's birthday – drinks at the Tap Tavern in Richmond, and on for dinner at The Ivy. With Sarah T and Michelle K, making up a perfect foursome. Good to see that even The Ivy has clocked the cost of living crisis and actually offers a 2 course supper for £19 – and it was really good!

Also have to pop in a very cute pic of the 4 Scott-side great grandkids – a rare treat to get them altogether – and they are growing up fast! From left to right we have Bobby, Polly, Lettie & little Tommy.

And finally it was time for Fi & Rich to ship in for a double header weekend of Twiuckenham rugby. One too many for my beer-drinking capabilities these days, so I packed them off with one of Rich's sons Harvey and settled in for the night with Maddie and Bob Dog. They rolled in around half twelve that night and got to bed around 2am after two rounds of cheese on toast and setting off the smoke alarm at 1am – eek.

Hence they were all a tad jaded and less thirsty it seemed on Saturday when we were joined by Nicky & Jules for pre-game brunch at ours, then also Rich's daughter Amelia and her other half Steve for the match vs Fiji. England were WOEFUL and we lost to Fiji the first time ever, but at least they deserved it and their celebrations were a lot funkier than ours would have been.

At least we then went to the excellent Bombay Delight curry house in Wimbledon to soak it all up – absolutely top notch Indian and everyone thought it was the best one they'd ever been to! Hurrah.

Very pleased to be off to Mikey & Margo's this evening for a pile of Margo's fabulous American fried chicken – will be great to catch up and that should soak up the weekend excesses perfectly.
