Just back from the 2 day Kantar Consulting love-in, in Amsterdam – known as the AmsterJam (do you see what they did there?)
Good to arrive with some of the 'old' AV crowd – managed to grab a quick snap before we were whisked off on coaches to the venue.
And the 2 days actually went ok considering I knew less than 5% of the people there. For you ex-AV readers, old faces like Bart, Paul Cowper, McGowan, Uli, Steve Rowe and even Jonathan Williams (Kantar has recently acquired Mash) were also in town. Good that a maelstrom of tulips, bright cushions and coloured flags can cover a multitude of sins..
And they even managed to sneak in a quick boat trip up and down the canals – a nice idea but hey, the 'Dam in March ain't exactly the sun-soaked Caribbean.. Main memory of this was the poor woman from the French office who was busting for a pee the entire way..
Thank God Sarah Taylor was there – my room-mate for the night and partner in crime for the evening bash. And at least there was free-flowing G&T at the bar, none of that 'just beer and wine' crap.
Plus a chance to have lunch with big sis at the airport, as I caught a later flight back, a very nice added bonus. Easter eggs and little badges for the small nieces got handed to her, and Mum's wooden flowers and choices for Mother's Day over to me – sorted!
