Well, we've tried to make the most of it and thanks to everyone who has popped by, send cards and texts and generally helped to perk us up while we wait for more news for H.
Hawksey had his annual 'Gentleman's Dinner' a few weeks back – seemed to go with a swing – and Scrumpy thoroughly enjoyed the large pile of sick by the recycling bins for a whole 2 weeks afterwards.
We've been making the most of the chiminea thingy – funny hoe marshmallows are appealing when there's a fire, but never any other time for me. And yes, that is my Xmas Onesie, reindeers 'n' all.
Mikey & Margo popped over on Xmas Eve with Patrick and Emmy, looking super cute here. As did Pam & Jude, cheers girls.
We had our usual food fest on Xmas Day, with just the two of us. This year the sprouts took a real shine to Mr H and I almost had to sleep in the spare room… And Mum seemed very happy at Richard's this year, here with her oldest two grand-daughters Jess & Grace, having been in Holland for the last 6 Christmasses.
And then H's brother Tim and wife Mel came over for Boxing Day and overnight – good chats and some truly dreadful attempts at Charades. How the hell ARE you meant to do 2001: A Space Odyssey??!
And we then nipped off to Suffolk for a couple of nights at the Swan in Lavenham. Very Ye Olde and more wonky buildings than straight ones. One was in Harry Potter but god knows which one. Plus a bloody good French restaurant – the Great House. Top notch.
And now about to head down to the cottage for New Year, when H has stopped coughing long enough to get into the car. For once its not me – but I wouldn't be surprised if he re-gifts me his cold, can't wait for that inevitability. hey.
Hope you've all had a good break – see you in the NY x x
