Ko-leee-aan

Well that's a very un-PC title for a post – but sod it, it's my blog and I swear that's how Koreans pronounce their nationality.

Had a top night out last night with Janine, Clare & Sarah T for Clare Greenwood's impending birthday (Happy Birthday Greeners – it's today!).

Started at Opium, a private bar up a never-ending staircase to the third floor of a building in the middle of Chinatown. Excellent Asian-themed cocktails and some damn good prawn & crab plus pork and samphire dim sum to nibble on too – defy one up on a bowl of peanuts.

And all looking very swish with the Chinese New Year decorations still up – welcome to my Year of the Sheep!

Then headed off to the newly opened Jin Juu – highly recommended (as long as you book downstairs, upstairs way too noisy, old its that we are). Great food, very sweet service, cool setting although still no idea why they have 400 photos of Spam tins on the back of the Ladies' loo doors…

Any night that involves a K-Pornstar cocktail with side shot of soju, chicken wings, prawn 'lollipops' and some incredible beef short ribs to wrap in lettuce works for me!

Food

Yum yum very yum – must do it again soon!

PS Why would anyone ever eat Kimchee? Bizarre national dish.
