Well, it all seemed such a good idea when I had three equally marvellous holiday opportunities crop up months ago, all of which had been on the cards for ages and were definite 'yesses'.
I am hugely looking forward to all three although even I will admit that they could have been spaced out a bit more evenly!
So, you can look forward to photos and tales from the following, in the all-rather-near-and-back-to-back future:
1. Majorca: A three night weekend in sunny(it) Palma with Sophie, Nicky & Vicki before Soph gets shunted off on deployment again – at least this time it's to Dubai and not Afghanistan. Ah the joys of being in the Air Force… Go this Thurs, back on Sunday – wonder how many times they will remind me that I am – by far even with Vicki there – the oldest in that group?
2. Miami: And yes, it's a 2 day turnaround post-Palma for t-shirt washing and repacking a different set of plug adaptors, as Janine & I head off to Miami on Wed 22nd for our annual bars and shopathon, thence on to Parrot Cay in the Turks & Caicos islands for (hopefully) a bit of sunning. Last time we went there we arrived in the pissing rain and ended up changing rooms as the first one was pants, so here's hoping this one runs a bit more smoothly.. They do have a cracking Asian restaurant there so am salivating for a fix of garlic, chilli and ginger already. (And that's just the cocktails..)
3. Seychelles: And if those two weren't nice enough, then there's nothing like ending May with a quick shimmy to the (bound to be?) sunny Seychelles. Scarily, we are flying out with the Nurses, so have 4 nights in different hotels to detox from the inevitable caning we will give the Emirates in-flight bar, before we then take our favourite shape of catamaran (ooooh sunbeds up top!) round various gorgeous little islands and beaches. Never been there so it notches me up a new country as well – REEEESULT!
In the meantime, Mr H has just very kindly been given a ticket to a 'cycle with Sir Chris Hoy and then have dinner in the middle of the Olympic velodrome' event while I am in Miami – and the bugger has also been asked to umpire a hockey game on the Smurfturf (the Olympic hockey pitch, blue turf hence the name) so he won't be missing me, no not one smidge. Add in the monumental Boys' Dinner that they have planned for his 50th and I'd be surprised if he's not in Casualty on my return.
Suffice it to say – what a bloody magical Spring this is looking like! Enormously grateful to still be 'healthy' and as you can see, squeezing the living daylights out of every moment.
Being alive – you just can't beat it x

I will be helping with the casualty visit as it all starts this weekend, before you go to Miami…#swightis40
Don’t forget we’re coming over from the 7th till the 12th! Or was our imminent arrival the last nudge you needed to book the trips? Lily Rose is looking forward to showing off her bike rack (just wait till she smiles and you’ll understand).
I think you need a few more trips lined up…
