Remember that nice gory picture of my right hand when I had carpal tunnel surgery at the end of June? Well, the surgeon bloke who at the time said 'nearly everyone who gets this in one hand will get it in the other', is sadly all too right.
Poor left hand (my rather treasured, dominant mitt) is going to be visiting the New Vic Hospital this coming Thursday to have a similar slice and dice done to its deeply hidden tunnel.
While it;s kind of good to know what's in store, it will be a total ball ache not to have dear lefty with me for a week or so while the worst of it mends, and then the 2 month wait (again!!) to get to the point that righty is now. Still in meeting – will call soon as can x can't open tight jars or carry very heavy stuff, but it is pretty well on the mend and its only the deep tissue now that still needs to reknit and also stop itching on the surface.
Guess I won;t be walking the dog much for a bit – she walks to the left and will probably send me arse over tit if I try switching her to my right hand – I shall break that thought to Mr H when he gets back from umpiring shortly, tee hee hee.
Hey ho – at least I only have two hands it should never come back in either (although remember, I do so love to be medically 'special') so once it's gone it should really be gone.
Alas poor lefty.. I'm looking fondly at it as I type. The test will be when I can get my wedding rings back on once the sausage fingers have subsided, such a sexy hot look hey?
