Yesterday, the most hugely generous, lovely present arrived out of the blue.
Heavily protected in 10 yards of bubble wrap.
Clinking and shifting slightly as I carried it indoors.
And was unwrapped to reveal this little beauty:

(Remember the palaver last year when I spent a fortune on getting Hawksey the Premium Whisky Advent – only to be told by him as we walked through Heathrow's booze department a couple of days before I was due to hand it over that 'he'd really gone off whisky this year and now was really only into brandy'….?!)
Well Curly remembered and this was her fabulous antidote to last year's buggered surprise, and – more truly – as a 'sorry you're having such a shit few months medically' pick-me-up.
What a total star – way too kind (I owe you lady!) but couldn't have been more spot on with her wise choice!
Opened it last night and had 1st Dec (a little Glaswegian headbutt in a glass) and 2nd Dec little bottles – both very good, marginal preference for the 2nd one (some Hedgerow concoction, yum)- will have to keep going to be sure I know which my fave is by the very end. Hic.
